If you've read anything at all about high speed Internet, you'll probably know at least three things: High Speed is the most exciting way to access the Internet, High Speed is only available in larger towns and cities, and lastly High Speed is absolutely, outrageously, often unaffordably expensive for anyone living outside these towns or cities.

We are set to change all that ... NETAGO is different from the normal high speed internet access. For a start, it's wireless and not limited to towns and cities. Secondly, it's more affordable than the alternatives that are available.

Whats New? Minimize

Dear Subscriber,

This is a reminder that the legacy NETAGO mail servers will be decommissioned on Friday March 13th.  If you have not started accessing your netago.ca email address via Google Apps, please do so immediately to avoid any downtime. In order to access your mail via Google, you need to be aware of the following changes:

Password

Email accounts with passwords less than six characters were migrated.  However, we have appended the word 2009 to the end of your password. For example if your password was “john”, the password was changed to “john2009”.  This is the password that you will need to enter in order to access your mail via Google.

Webmail

As a reminder you can access your mail via Google on the web, a PDA or a mobile phone by going to http://webmail.netago.ca  Please start using the new interface immediately, so you will not experience any disruptions of service when the old mail servers are shut off.

Webmail Contacts

If you use our webmail interface, and have contacts in the old webmail, please call our office and we will move your contacts to the new server.

POP Mail

With the extra storage space, it is no longer necessary for you to access all of your mail using an Email client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Apple Mail, Entourage, Thunderbird, etc). While this option is still available to you, you will need to change your email client settings in order to for your client to work with Google.

You can simply call our office and we will help you with the changes

You can find the answers to your questions regarding the migration by simply clicking on the address or type this address into a browser: http://www.netfaqs.com/google/index.asp?bisp=netago.ca

We hope you enjoy your new Google Apps email account! If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please let us know. We are interested in getting your feedback.

Sincerely,

NETAGO Customer Service

NETAGO Partners with Google to offer "Google Apps"

poweredbyGooglemed.jpg

NETAGO is pleased to announce that we have formed a strategic partnership with Google to host our email and portal services. This is a very exciting change, as it will enable us to provide you with latest email technology through Google’s dynamic suite of communication applications.

We expect the Google migration to be implemented Friday Feb 20 2009.  We hope you share our enthusiasm regarding this upgrade. Please note that your email addresses will not change and we have worked very hard to make this change as seamless as possible. In addition, this change will not impact virtual domain customers nor will it impact any aspect of your Internet connection. We will be sending out additional correspondence regarding the migration date as well as inform you of any changes and upgrades.

In the meantime, here’s a partial list of key features and benefits of our Google partnership:

6.5 Gigabytes of email storage

    • That is over a 30 fold increase over the current limit.  Every mail account will have a very convenient anti-spam feature.  Mail classified as spam is moved into a folder with that name.  Spam not caught can be moved into that folder at the click of a button and is instantly reported to the spam-analysis servers to help adjust your anti-spam profile.  Similarly, legitimate email incorrectly classified as spam can be moved from the spam folder to the inbox at the click of a button.  The same analysis procedure takes place to adjust your profile and you also have the option of white listing the sender.  All of this is done without having to check any other website or web pages.
    • As a result, you will be able to leave mail on the server for a very long time

New portal

    • Powered by Google and offering a mix of news, sports, entertainment, weather and many other customizable features not previously available

Google Talk

    • Instant messaging & voice calls

Google Calendar

    • Schedule meetings, share calendars and communicate more effectively

Google Docs

    • Create online documents and collaborate with others in real-time across the globe

Access

    • You will be able to access their information anywhere, anytime – including email access via mobile devices such as a Blackberry or cell phone.  You will still be able to access your mail via traditional email programs as well as taking advantage of the web-based mail interface.

Reliability

    • Google has an incredibly reliable, fast and robust email service, complete with anti-spam and anti-virus protection

What do you need to do?

New Password Requirements

In preparation for the move to Google, a change to your email password may be required.  To be clear, your email address will not change.  Once the mail services have been transitioned to Google, your email password will need to be at least SIX (6) characters. This change is necessary to be compatible with Google’s security requirements. If your password is already at least six characters, you can disregard this message. If not, please change your password immediately to avoid any possible downtime during the migration.

New Webmail

The link to Webmail will not change, http://webmail.netago.ca. However, your login will be slichtly different, you will now just type your username and password instead of your full email address. The login page should be self explainatory.

New POP3 or IMAP Settings

If you use an Email client such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Internet Mail, etc., you will need to make the following changes on Friday Feb 20th:

For IMAP Access (Our Prefered Client Access)
IMAP leaves all your email on the Google Server so your email is exactly the same regardless if you access it with your Email Client, or the Webmail interface.  You will need to setup your email client as follows:

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - requires SSL: imap.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 993
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port: 465 or 587
Account Name: your full email address (username@netago.ca)
Email Address: your full Gmail email address (username@netago.ca)
Password: your Email password

Help can be found by clicking HERE!

For POP3 Access
POP3 downloads all your email from the Google server to your computer. Your email client and Webmail will not be the same. You will need to setup your email client as follows:

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL: pop.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port: 465 or 587
Account Name: your full email address (username@netago.ca)
Email Address: your Email address (username@netago.ca)
Password: your Email password

Help can be found by clicking HERE!
